Case Studies

Juniper Networks

Before Juniper Networks unveiled plans for its brand new Sunnyvale CA campus, furnished with 300-plus conference rooms, no one had envisioned, much less attempted, such a tremendous deployment of AV-over-IP multicast on a network. SVSi, an established industry leader and pioneer in IP-based AV distribution and switching solutions, was integral in ensuring the success of this ambitious project. Every device on the Juniper campus, every projector, display, projection screen, CODEC, and DSP has a network connection.

SVSI Provides Flexible Solution for UALR

The University of Arkansas-Little Rock Department of Nursing engaged Curtis Stout AV to deliver a state-of-the-art clinical observation and capture system in their Simulation center. The Simulation center requires the students to apply the knowledge they’ve obtained in the classroom in hands-on simulated patient care environments. The center is divided into departments based on specialty, each with a dedicated clinical rooms, observation rooms and meeting rooms to review completed exercises.

Las Vegas Race and Sports Book Casino

Minor, Manager of Sound and Video Communications at a prominent Las Vegas casino, was in search of a solution to replace an older, maxed out, and problematic system in the resort’s Sports Book. The popular venue features 100 individual horse racing carrels and additional seating in its adjacent Sports and VIP Lounges, bar area, and Zoozacrackers Deli.

White Papers

Workbook to Planning for Video Streaming

Video streaming is one of the most requested, and least understood, technologies within the workplace and campus. This workbook goes beyond the cameras, recorders, displays and devices, and dives into the details at the back end of the hardware, software and the network, providing the information you need to know for a successful deployment.

4K over 1 Gbps Video Distribution

The rapid increase in commercially available display resolutions is driving demand for video distribution and switching solutions that can accommodate the bandwidths required for those resolutions. Unfortunately, for applications that require video distribution beyond a single room, there are very few existing standards that can accommodate this bandwidth, and those that do have strict cable requirements or require the use of optical fiber. This workbook discusses how compressing the video using JPEG2000, can significantly reduce bandwidth, allowing content to be transmitted using standard category cable and switched over a user’s existing IP network.

SVSI Stream Compatibility

SVSI Networked AV solutions can be utilized in a wide range of environments from small isolated systems to large integrated deployments with complicated topologies. With this broad spectrum of use cases, it was necessary for SVSI engineers to approach networked AV from several different angles to cover as many uses as possible while balancing bandwidth, image quality, and streaming capabilities.
