Spotlight On
Device Discovery Partners
AMX Device Discovery is making it simpler and faster than ever to program systems and allow devices to be controlled almost immediately upon plug-in.
This series salutes our partner manufacturers who are taking the initiative to write their own modules and making their products Device Discovery-enabled that much sooner. Each spotlight gives our dealers, integrators and programmers details on what these products do, why they’re hot and why they are a great choice for future installations.
Spotlight on TANDBERG’s MXP Systems:
Breaking Barriers in Videoconference Programming
TANDBERG, a global leader in visual communication was one of the first manufacturers to write their own Device Discovery module, which was created for their MXP line of
Integrator Videoconferencing Systems (3000 MXP/ 6000 MXP). This was a major achievement for the industry because videoconferencing systems tend to be some of the most technically complex to program, often extending programming time and creating significant budget impacts.
But thanks to the dedicated team of TANDBERG software developers led by Jon Nordal (R&D Product Group Manager, Integrator Products) and Einar Hagen (R&D Software Developer), within just a few seconds of plug-in, all of the functions to control an MXP system can now be managed by an AMX NetLinx Controller.
The MXP product line is one of TANDBERG’s most popular because of their ability to
incorporate all of the necessary components for sophisticated videoconferencing in a single, turn-key solution. This includes camera, microphone, video display, audio output and the videoconference codec, which manages the system. MXP systems are available in a variety of sizes, shapes and configurations to suit just about any application.
All MXP Systems shipped since TANDBERG’s F5 software release in July, 2006 come pre-loaded with the ability to be recognized by NetLinx Controllers and retrieve the MXP Device Discovery module. All systems shipped prior to the F5 release are upgradeable through a simple firmware update. Complete details, product information and firmware updates are available at www.tandberg.net
